There is a huge difference between a family owned restaraunt and a box shop. If you want bagged meat and pre portioned specials then do not go here. My family and friends have been coming here for upwards of 10 years. Since we have been coming, they have had the same 2 chefs, same owners, and same front house staff, we always know that our experience will be fantastic. They are always willing to accommodate (and remember ) my families various likes and dislikes, seating us at our favorite table, and make us feel like we are truly welcome. The food is hot, homemade, traditional, delicious and worth every penny. The service is knowledgeable, delightful, and efficient. I'm not sure what restaurantica12 problem is with this restaurant. Me and my husband comes here about once a month and it's fantastic, except simetimes when he gets the full rack of ribs one of them isn't the greatest. And honestly it's the best meal for your buck. Will recommended it to anybody who isn't fussy on where they eat just what they eat. Good home cooked meals. Yummy yummy! Read more

Wow! What a treat. We had driven by the place over and over again and there was always cars parked there no matter the time of the day and now I know why! The menu, which consists mostly of the good old hardy foods - meat and potatoes stuff - is absolutely fantastic. We were always searching for a great place to eat in Peterborough that we both could love and coming up short. We have found a great love in Uncle Georges. Sometimes the wait staff is not as good as other times, but the meal is always outstanding. We have been there 4 times in the past 4 months and love it. We will be back. Whether or not the menu changes in the summer I don't know but the prime rib is absolutely to die for. Read more

At first I wasn't sure about this place but after my first visit I was sold. The food is amazing, the sushi is so fresh and the waitresses are so nice. They are always smiling and are quick on their jobs. You're never waiting for refills of drinks or to order.
