Meet the owner

The founders of Periphere et Domison are making a powerful return with élément de base, a modular and environmentally friendly furniture store that caters to people passing by the showroom, and online (via their website). Brother and sister team My and Thien Ta Trung combine their respective expertise to form the perfect storm. Thien's education in business and administration from McGill University and My's education in industrial design convinced the duo, after several years working in the furniture industry, to open élément de base in March, 2016.

Thien and My have always been passionate about design, fashion and architecture and take inspiration daily from interior design and décor magazines. The goal is for their clients to enhance their surroundings on a functional level, but also in a visually pleasing and tactile fashion.

"In Quebec, we are increasingly aware of the importance of our environment. Living in a beautiful environment positively influences our behaviour and mood," says Thien.

    Do not buy from Element de Base, they have no idea what they are doing. Delivery was supposed to be 8-10 weeks WITH everything covid related going on. It took 20 weeks because they have no idea what they are doing. On top of that, they sent our couch in the wrong fabric, continuously lied to us, and never once kept us updated that it was being delayed... also they don’t have tracking info. Couch is meh, not that comfy, the chaise (L part of the sectional) only fits one person.

    Ordered in May. Have received nothing as of November, no response to emails. I have requested a refund to no response. Seem happy to have unsatisfied customers once they have your money. Im actually writing this review with the hope that it might prompt a response. I would reccomend not risking your money with a business like this.

    Superbes design excellent rapport qualité/prix. J'ai visité leur "showroom" et je voulais tout acheter. Leurs canapés sont très beaux, épurés et confortables.. en plus d'être très abordables. J'adore le design graphique de mes coussins et coup de coeur pour les petits TAMTAMS. JE recommande sans hésiter cette compagnie familiale et locale!
