I brought in my ignition key to my 1996 ford motorhome to be recut. The locksmith? looked at the key and told me he could not cut the key because it had a "chip" and could not be duplicated. All the time trying to talk to his wife on his phone while she was flying home. I went to the Ford dealership because it just looked like a normal key to me. The key was not a "chip" key and they cut it for me. Mission Locksmith can't identify a vehicle chip key and are too busy with personal business? Never going back.
