I read all the reviews prior to making reservations there. It seemed to me that the bad reviews were from folks that did not know what to expect and were surprised when they got there. The web page is quite clear of the menu and venue. I saw it and was not surprised when I got into the restaurant. We went for dinner before a show at the NAC. The server was at our table promptly and even asked if we were going to a show so that she could ensure our service and food would allow us plenty of time to get to the show. Very thoughtful and the service remained top notch throughout. Our appetizers were great. Our dinners were very good, the fish was fresh, the steak was done exactly as asked, the duck confit melted in your mouth except for the crispy skin...which was perfect. The sides were appropriate for the meal and also delicious but the 3 root vegetable mash that came with the Duck was extraordinary and deserves mention..Some had desserts which were declared as a real treat. We were in and out in time for our show but never hurried or short changed in our dinner. A very good experience overall. Pricey? Well, it was everything that was posted on the web page so no surprised at all. A very good spot with very good food and caring , professional servers. Just what you want for a good night out. I've gone to this Kelsey's several times now, and each time I've been very pleased with the food and service. The waitresses are always down-to-earth and friendly, the food is prepared very fast, and consistently good. I love the Four Cheese Spinach Dip appetizer, though they've changed the dipping bread to a baked variety that isn't quite as good (though apparently healthier for you). I normally always get the Club Wrap Platter after sharing the Spinach Dip with my girlfriend (the appetizer and platter would be too much for the average person, definitely best to have to someone to share the dip with). I've never been disappointed going here, and if you're looking for a dinner/movie type thing, they have a deal with Cineplex South Keys so you can walk right over after your meal. This Kelsey's is definitely my favorite chain restaurant to visit. The consistency in food/service means I'll keep going back! Read more

On Wednesdays Montana's has an "all you can eat beef rib night", its worth the trip and go there hungry. They have 2 choices of beef ribs "back" or "side" ribs, back ribs are more tender and have more meat on them. Its a fantastic meal and very delicious, I find myself dreaming of those ribs the rest of the week. Sadly they do not offer the same meal any other night of the week, its a one night only affair, the rest of the week they offer only a pork bone substitute for "Ribs" which is not at all like on rib night. Another annoying thing is you cannot switch rib type once you start so choose carefully. I know they have Rib night in several other Montana's restaurants in the Ottawa area on the same night but I don't know if it's chain wide, check with your local restaurant. I really enjoyed my visit to the Parliament Pub, patio. I was there with my father and uncle on a visit to Ottawa. I was thrilled to be able to sit under a canopy of green, with a clear view of Parliament Hill, the Centennial Flame and of course the world famous Peace Tower! The service was great, the waiter was quite attentive and even came over a few times to ask us how the food was and did we need anything? We had bruschetta, which was very nice. Good fresh tomatoes and real cheese! Along with the bruschetta I had some creamy squash soup, it thick and hot, very flavourful! The salad was pretty with a nice vinagrette, the greens were crisp, as they should be! After lunch we just sat around sipping our coffee and enjoying the magnificent view. Of course we kept an eye out for some of the pols who like to hang around - trying to come with ways of reducing our taxes I am sure! LOL The coffee was good too, I am fussy about coffee and often don't like the tasteless drek so often served... After a quick tour inside to look at the political memorabilia and caricatures we left to continue our visit. I would recommend Parliament Pub to anyone who is visiting Ottawa. The is a good choice of well prepared and presented food for reasonable prices and they get it on to your table in time. Did I mention the view? Read more

I've had the pleasure of experiencing multiple sushi restaurants in Ottawa, but 168 Sushi in Merivale by far stands out from the rest in regards to the variety available and quality of taste. My fiance and I recommend this location to our friends and family, as well as taking advantage of their fast and effective delivery service. The buffet at both lunch and dinner is reasonably priced and it is very easy to get your money's worth out of the food. Personal Highlights: -Miso Soup -Curry Chicken -Mango and Crab Rolls -Pork Dumplings -Salmon Roses The restaurant feels more like a night-club than a sushi buffet, but I have grown attached to the overall atmosphere. The service sometimes forgets to bring an item on the card you fill out once in a while, I recommend filling out one card per table for everyone instead of having each person fill out their own card at the same table to make it easier for the chefs (which you get to watch prep the food). Decided to try Zola's breakfast again...it was excellent. I had breakfast several months previously and did not find it very good. However this visit was excellent. I had the breakfast special...two eggs over easy with sausage and homefries. The eggs and sausage were very good. The home fries are at least equal to any I have tasted in the city. breakfast come with a fabulous fresh fruit cup and a rosemary spiced grilled tomatoe and great artisan ancient grain bread. For years my family of four and I have been ordering food from Lucky Dragon by delivery. We shave been BEYOND impressed by our delivery service, the delivery man is ALWAYS on time with a huge smile on his face and over all positive and happy vibe. After telling our delivery man that we've never been inside the physical location before he suggested that we go in and eat, so the following week we did. We were automatically seated by an Asian lady with bright red hair, she seemed nice and greeted us with small talk etc,. When we were ready to order we had to wait sevrel minutes even though we were the only table, the Lady(whom seems to be the owner) was to preoccupied with her phone. When she finally came over, we had a couple questions and she seemed annoyed to be answering them. After we got our food a couple more tables came in and it got louder and she turned up the music, I called her over to ask if she could turn this Spanish repetitive dance music down a bit considering my two kids were getting a bit cranky and she rolled her eyes and shot a mean glare to my TODDLERS and kept the music at the same level. We were greeted at the door by a respectful very friendly young woman named kirsten, then brought to our nice roomy comfortable booth at the side of the restaurant. we were greeted by our server straight away, Tina, who Brought our first round of drinks. Once we saw the menu we ordered nice and quickly, the menu was quite detailed. Salad and bread was brought to our table and the feast began. when tina brought our food to the table i joked that i might have to take it home.
