After the devastating closing of my favourite chinese take out restaurant, Oriental House, i've been in a constant search for its replacement. I think i've finally found it. I tried Eastern Restaurant for the first time tonight, and was extremely happy with what they offered. The service was very pleasant and warm. The older gentleman that took my order welcomed me with a smile and was very friendly. I ordered five dishes. Chicken with hot garlic sauce, spicy chicken, pork fried rice, sweet and sour pork and shanghai special house noodles. The whole order was done quickly and was hot and fresh. Every dish was unique and very tasty. The spicy dishes had just the perfect amount of spice. The flavours of the dishes were able to come through without being overwhelmed by spice. The pieces of meat that they use are all good sized cuts, and not the tiny freeze dried meat that some places use. All the dishes had really good, strong flavours. Nothing was bland or boring. When looking for chinese take out I look for not only quality, both in food and service, but also for something unique. Eastern Restaurant offers all this and more. I highly recommend this tiny but excellent restaurant if quality chinese food is what you are looking for. Read more

I'm not a professional food critique but I can easily tell the food quality was superb with great, great taste. Although the place isn't new or fancy, it's great for casual family dine-in and quick takeout. Sometimes it gets really busy on weekends, longer wait than usual but worth the wait :p If you are looking for a place with great food taste, this place is right for you. I'd say sashimi varieties and sushi plates are the best as they are of the freshest quality. Also the place is quite small so not adequate for big party size though. Service is really great, I think the restaurant is run by family and the lady is really kind, always making sure the food is ok, giving lots of smiles, friendly atmosphere. Read more

I added this restaurant because, being new to this site i want to tell people about the breakfast/brunch. Okay so me and my buddy came in one sunday and tried the breakfast. I counted 12 different types of fruit! some i've never even seen before. fair price (about $11) and on this particular day it was moderatly busy and my coffee cup never went empty.
