This restaurant is a hidden gem and a very welcome addition to the Markham dining scene! The chicken gyros are especially great -- juicy, yet moist at the same time. I liked it better than the souvlaki, but both are great. Salads are huge and easy to share. Staff are friendly and attentive. I had reservations about going to another Wimpy's, after having such a disastrous experience at the one in my town. The boyfriend however had eaten here many times, and told me that he'd really enjoyed it, and we needed a place we could take his year old son and all of us be comfortable. I was quite happy with my experience at this Wimpy's. The food was good, portions huge, service prompt (though she was carrying on a conversation with the family at the table beside us every time she came to our table). No complaints really. Read more

While driving around the scenic Caledon Hills with two friends, we stopped for lunch at Tom's Family Restaurant. The service was warm and friendly, the atmosphere comfortable and relaxing, and the food was perfect for our needs - we didn't want an upscale, fancy restaurant, just a casual, friendly place with good food. I had some of the best fish & chips I've ever had. I couldn't resist trying the homemade strawberry-rhubarb pie, and it didn't disappoint - it was heavenly! Not only the best breakfast in the area, but the best value. (Especially if you are a senior.) 2 good sized eggs, 4 strips of bacon, texas toast and home-fires not frozen cubes. I get a side of hot peppers and coffee. For two of us .... just over $11.00 with tax!! (If you aren't a senior it would come to around $12.50) Never had a problem with any of the waitresses. Food is cooked properly. Atmosphere is the usual R&R diner that plays a good selection of 50's & '60's music. You can go a few blocks away and pay $16 for a lot less! Have eaten brekkie here a few times and it is very good. The service is good, the meal hot, and the price is fair. Can't ask for much more than that. Nice little restaurant. The last time, I had a hamburger platter and it was awesome. They put some kind of spice in the burger meat, but it made the burger. Very nice. My significant other really enjoyed her souvlaki dinner - one of Little D's specialties. Would definitely eat here again. Recommended highly. Read more

I ordered from wimpys using just eat. I was worried about just eat because of bad reviews but the delivery man ended up working for skip the dishes. They included everything I asked for (which included 5 maple syrups for the pancakes) the pancakes were huge!! The veggie burger was pretty good and the home fries were so good! It was all still nice and warm when I got it. I would say it was worth it's price too, it was a pretty good deal. Great food!!! Read more

Change did Mom's good. Not sure who the new owners are, but we only went back because we heard the old ones were gone. The biggest difference, these people care, my breakfast was fast, hot, and very good. I went to college up the road, and after being treated poorly repeatedly by the previous owners, I said I would never go back. Well, am I ever glad I did. This is my new favorite breakfast spot in Barrie. Love it. Great job Mom's!!!! Read more

This place is by far the BEST Restaurant I've ever eaten in!!! and here's why; 1- Unless your extremely hungry, the home cooked portions are so big, you can barely finish, so in most cases there's left overs for the next day. 2- No one in the city comes close to giving you that much food for that price, because no one has this kind of turnover! 3- Everything , even the bacon bits are real, nothing is from a can, the soups are home receipies, and the place is so busy that the food can be any fresher! 4- The servers might be a little on the old side, but you still get your meal faster than any other restaurant I ve ever been to! 5- The seats are real leather, ive seen them watering the plants, and you can custom tailor every part of your meal to suit even the pickiest of eaters.
