Not sure about the other reviewer, but after reading this review, I had to register and give an opinion on one of our favorite little take out places we know. We visit our cottage regularly about 2 kms from this "super" Chip Wagon, mostly in the summer months, and have many local friends who all rave about the food at George's (from what we understand, it's not the owner's name). The ice cream is great, and we order it EVERY time - judging by all the tall white ice cream bins and the ice cream menu sign out front, Reid's dairy is the supplier from Belleville. The burgers and fresh cut fries are fantastic, I'm not a fish lover, but our friends order their halibut fish & chips EVERY time we go. As for locals, our local friends said this place has been there for like 10-15 or more years, some of them claim to have gained weight from eating there so often, so have to disagree with the local opinion comments - though I guess any time you go to a small town, opinions will may vary! In our family opinion, it's a lovely place to eat, great atmosphere on the way to the local beaches and cottages, on a nice summer weekend. We would and have, recommended to anyone we know! Great little cafe. A bit cramped inside but a varied menu and very reasonable prices. Probably the best clubhouse sandwich in town, comes with fries for 7.80$. Lunch specials (sandwich usually) also with fries or soup and a drink for 7$. I had the pulled pork sandwich last time, and for being as far away from southern as you can get, it was very good. Meat was moist on a white bun (a must), enough sauce, solid flavour and tangy. Even the cole slaw (I normally don't touch slaw) was excellent with just the right amount of vinegar. Service is prompt, friendly and attentive. Excellent breakfast special as well, eggs, bacon/ham, hash browns, toast for around $5. Read more

After a long drive from Hamilton I was ready to eat anything, and this was in sight from where I had to go. As soon as my business was done I headed in, not realising that it was already 9:15 and they close at 9:30 on a Monday. After I had filled my first plate the hostess informed me of the closing time, but she said that I was welcome to fill up as many plates as I liked and eat at my leisure while they packed up. So I did, and washed them down with a Tsing Tao. I found the food to be the equal of other buffets I have visited, just wish I could have had more time, but that wasn't their fault. Read more
