Hands down the best quality of ingredients and dish presentation in the area.Not pub food which is what most other eating establishments in town are. Owner and wait staff are friendly but not intrusive.It is pricey but quality costs money. Retrofit makes the small setting more comfortable. Highly recommend. Read more

We live out of the area and normally don't eat at ESM's as we have been bitterly disappointed in the past. Not so at this location! Our experience here put this restaurant back on our radar! Great service, friendly staff (ask for Holly, she's lovely) and the kids were well looked after. Not to mention the ice-cold beer and fresh and tasty food. If you have given up on East Side Mario's don't pass this one up. These guys should show the rest of the chain how it's done! EXCELLENT! Read more

My cousin from Holland (owner of a travel agency) wanted a special menu with a capable Chef and a special place to celebrate his 50th Birthday on holiday in Canada. He found it in Slackoni's. The setting on the water was intimate and relaxed with music supplied by a classical guitarist. This was a multi-course meal and each was delivered with great presentation style and flavour. The group was delighted with anti-pasto dishes of vitello tomatol, smoked salmon, mini portabello mushrooms stuffed with shrimp and a mouth watering caprese salad. Moving inside to a cozy adjoining party room we were treated to a tasty seafood fettuccini pescatore. The main event was elk tenderloin in a maple bbq glaze. And for those who like desert, the ultimate..the zucotto "italian bomb cake" Amazing! As per the menu, the wine was also chosen to compliment each course. It was a great event and everyone was thrilled. Our european guests, so used to eating in Paris were very impressed! Hats off to Slackoni's staff in delivering the service in keeping with the excellent food. Congratulations to all! Read more

On the outside, this place looks "meh" but walk in and it is lovely and charming and CLEAN. We didn't feel like Italian but we thought we would take a chance on a basic burger, fries and coca cola. There is nothing basic about this burger. It was fresh and made with love and the fries were freshly cut and perfecto.I could see part of the kitchen from where we sat and it was as clean as my mama's kitchen. Next test was the bathroom. As I guessed, it was clean! Waitress was lovely and efficient. The portion was generous, so much so that I could not finish my meal so she boxed it up and the burger tasted phenomenal even the next day. What is your secret? Only recommendation, update the exterior to reflect interior. The interior should eventually be updated but the fact that it was clean made me jump for joy!! Read more

This place came up when I asked some friends about a good burger joint in Kingston. I gave it a shot and I have to agree the food is great. The burgers are large portion, and the sweet potato fries where great along with the chipotle mayo. The two meals and an appetizer ran up a pretty healthy bill, but it was worth it. Its a comfortable place to eat with medium to high level food in a relaxed atmosphere. Read more
