Atelier offers an interesting experience, with a blind, 13-course tasting menu and food created in a laboratory, not a traditional kitchen. Some examples of our tastings included flash-frozen coconut, flash-boiled bison, food prepared on an "anti-griddle", wafers made of dehydrated honey, etc.
Beyond that, I don't want to ruin the surprises, which really is what the experience is about.
Our party was there for about 4.5 hours. All 4 of us did the blind tasting and 2 of us also had the wine pairing option.
We were underwhelmed, despite going into the experience with great anticipation. The food was interesting but rarely tasty - only 4 or 5 of the 13 courses stand out as very tasty. The wine pairings were *very* poorly done, with only one truly successful pairing. For the price, we expected a far greater experience in terms of flavours and taste, although it was very interesting to experience familiar flavours in unusual preparations.
The service was attentive, friendly, informed, if sometimes a bit over-eager to impress.
A good experience to have but unfortunately not one that any of the 4 of us would repeat, and not one that I'd take a friend to for, say, a birthday treat.

This is truly the best of all culinary & entertainment worlds! Obviously "the best" is subjective, and if you like big chain joints, stuffy service and soft music, this isn't the place for you. But if you like an intimate, dark and cozy atmosphere, fantastic casual service, the crackle of vinyl while MJ, James Brown or the Boss rings out across the bar all while eating some of the best food you've ever tasted...The Whalesbone is calling your name. Perhaps the best selection of oysters I've ever seen (even rare Pacific oysters from BC and NZ), professional bartenders/oyster shuckers keeping you "hydrated", fed and entertained, and a well-trained & highly talented (and VERY fun) staff make The Whalesbone a great place for lunch, dinner or just drinks with your friends! Mes enfants et moi y sommes allés plusieurs fois et avons toujours appréciés. Leur gazpacho est délicieuse et bien épicée, ils ont de multiples salades, dont une aux fruits de mer que j'ai beaucoup aimée. Des plats variés toujours appétissants. Et des petits déjeuners tout inclus.

Since I was a little kid this has been a go to place for take out pizza. Had left town for almost 10 years and came back to find my favorite pizza place just as I had left it. I can confirm that those that have the negative reviews on here are absolutely ignorant. This place has been a mom and pop shop since they opened back in their hay day. The most unbiased review, I would recommend anybody who loves pizza to eat the stuff. A++
