I brought my family to the Hyland this week and as always the food was excellent (and too much!) and the service was very friendly. Food is always delivered promptly, the restaurant is always clean, and overall, it is just a nice meal out with the family. I definitely recommend to any families visiting Port Perry. After reading the reviews online about this restaurant I was apprehensive about going to a staff Xmas get-together involving 16 people. I don't know what other reviewers are talking about. The servers had excellent manners and the food was good (for the price) and was served in a timely manner. I didn't hear any complaints from anyone at our table. We were lucky to have a restaurant accomodate such a large group. The owner made a point of acknowledging the person who had made our reservation. Nice people, good food. I would go back. Read more

We ordered the Beef tenderloin crostini, pork belly, baby back ribs, and black cod. The pork belly was the crispest and least fatty that I've ever had, it was spectacular. The flavors on the crostini were very good, the cherry chutney and dijon aioli went very well together. And the ribs... much better than any I've had at a Ribfest. My GF said the black cod was the tastiest fish she had ever had. The ambiance is nice cottage country, the dining room intimate with only four tables. A definite repeat!. Read more

Great place for guys or girls. They seem up to date on all hair styles and they attempt to teach you how to duplicate what they did so you can do it yourself. So far always a great haircut. At first I thought this was just a womans hair salon but I found out that each hairdresser is required to take courses to improve their craft and some of those courses are in mens cuts and styles. Excellent work here. I also often get a free coffee which is a bonus. Read more

There is a huge difference between a family owned restaraunt and a box shop. If you want bagged meat and pre portioned specials then do not go here. My family and friends have been coming here for upwards of 10 years. Since we have been coming, they have had the same 2 chefs, same owners, and same front house staff, we always know that our experience will be fantastic. They are always willing to accommodate (and remember ) my families various likes and dislikes, seating us at our favorite table, and make us feel like we are truly welcome. The food is hot, homemade, traditional, delicious and worth every penny. The service is knowledgeable, delightful, and efficient.
