I made reservations and went to the restaurant at the end of May for my 18th birthday party. It looked very elegant fom the mall entrance. The ambience was very modern and cozy, though it was slightly noisy at times. Service was prompt and attentive with our orders and the manager even came and brought me a piece of chocolate cake with "Happy Birthday" written in icing on the plate. Everyone unanimously agreed that the food was great. We shared a group veggie, chips, and dip platter and I had the steak well done. It was cooked to perfection and was artfully arranged with savory garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. The cake I received was delicious, as was the sorbet a friend let me try. Overall, the evening went perfectly and the meal was easy on the wallet since none of us drank any alcohol. I would definitely come back here or to another Oliver & Bonacini managed etablishment. We took our two daughters to the Keg this evening and the food was very good. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, the sides were all warm and everything was very flavourful. The kids menu, colouring items and special details (fruit/veg right away) made it a great family location. Our only issue was the service. I rated this Keg a 4 but that is a balance of infleucnes because there is a good side and a down side. The good: the cleavage OR the mini-skirts. Notice that checking out some cleavage on young ladies or short skirts is pure entertainment and super. BUt for some very strange reason no waitress has both of them. Its either this or that. What is the story? I dont know. The girls with cleavage have pants, the girls in minis have no cleavage. STRANGE> the other down side is the kids. People, if you have three kids can you ask them to stay at home or leave their baseball caps at home? this is a high class restaurant. There is a burger place around the corner did you mean to take them there? I am not going to come back and order alcohol if there are kids around. Due to lack of time we missed out planning for lunch but thanks to my ‘Opentable’ app Grilled Atlantic Salmon, Chicken Parmigianino, Spring Lamb with red wine that I found Carmelina Restaurant in Woodbine Avenue. Their event catering service for lunch & evening snacks made me & my team proud on my decision. I wonder how I missed looking this food place for last many years. Today was the first day I had been there in years, and things have changed... For the better :) I took my children there so they could see the streetcar like I did when I was younger. All of the staff was warm and welcoming, the streetcar was closed when I arrived but they overheard my childrens disappointment and opened the doors just for us. We were served promptly, and our food was ready in no time. Which I know for me is important when you take out your kids cause they can be soo impatient. My burger was cooked just the way I like it and my cheese was actually melted on which doesn't always happen in the fast food business. The onion rings were a little different than what I remember but they had a good combination of a crisp outside and a soft batter inside. My kids had more of my shake then I did but they seemed to love it lol. I will deffinately be goin back this summer on my way tothe cottage, it's so worth waiting for. Oh. Before I forget, parents be warned they don't have kids burgers, only nuggets which I thought were actually a great portion size. Oh and they're a cash only business they have an ATM, the only annoying thing about stopping in was the people in front of me in line didn't see the signs that clearly say cash only and held every one up.
