Wow! What a treat. We had driven by the place over and over again and there was always cars parked there no matter the time of the day and now I know why! The menu, which consists mostly of the good old hardy foods - meat and potatoes stuff - is absolutely fantastic. We were always searching for a great place to eat in Peterborough that we both could love and coming up short. We have found a great love in Uncle Georges. Sometimes the wait staff is not as good as other times, but the meal is always outstanding. We have been there 4 times in the past 4 months and love it. We will be back. Whether or not the menu changes in the summer I don't know but the prime rib is absolutely to die for. Read more

The flavors on the crostini were very good, the cherry chutney and dijon aioli went very well together. And the ribs... much better than any I've had at a Ribfest. Omg this place is an absolute Gem! My husband , myself and my mother inlaw were on our way from New Brunswick to Ontario. During a snow storm ( March 4th 2023) the owner G was amazing! The breakfast was the best I've ever had. The coffee is so so good! The customer service and hospitality we received here will be something we all talk and rave about forever! BUT they no longer have a lunch menu- which means having lunch here is now much more expensive than it used to be (ie. the stew used to be $11 for lunch, now its $18 off the generic menu). because of this- I likely will only come here for dinner now as Peterborough has lots of other reasonably priced lunch options.
