haven't been to the Mekong in a while, but decided to try it again the other night, service was very good, our waitress was very attentive and our orders ariived in a timely manner. We ordered a couple of appetizer, they wer ok, nothing special. I am a huge fan of Asian food, but unfortunately had nowhere to go for good Korean food since moving to Ottawa, until I found Koreana that is. Koreana is a low key gem tucked away on Somerset. The staff is always super friendly and service is very quick. Tea along with complimentary appetizers are brought within a couple minutes. On to the food. I absolutely love the bulgogi which is at least as good if not better than most of the competition in in Toronto. It's always sizzling hot and if you don't put a napkin on your lap you are bound to have some crackling oil drops land there. The meat is very well marinated and tender, and the portions are very big. The various stews are likewise very good, my favorite is the pork stew. They also service sushi but I have never had to chance to try it. The bulgogi is just too hard to pass up. As with most Korean restaurants, your order is accompanied by complimentary side dishes like kimchi and seaweed. All are very good except the occasional broccoli salad which I'm not a fan of. Koreana has now become one of my monthly haunts. Highly recommended. Read more

My one complaint (perhaps more of an observance, really) relates to how noisy it can get with a full house. I am a celiac and I just discovered this restaurant! When you walk in they ask if you need a gluten free menu which is something I’ve never been asked before. They have an amazing variety of options for gluten free. The service was insanely good and there was nothing but an evening filled with laughs and a great environment. I recently decided to go to Pubwells Restaurant after being recommended a few times by good friends of mine, and to be honest, I wish I went sooner! The first time I went was for breakfast, which was absolutely the best breakfast i've had at any restaurant to date. I had the french toast with fresh fruit (server told me the bread is homemade fresh weekly and I could tell!) and my husband had the salmon egg benedict which was equally fantastic. Since visiting for breakfast, I've been a handful of times, for lunch and dinner. Enjoying the variety of pizzas, daily specials and on tap beer. There's a new soup daily (also homemade) and i've become especially attached to the calzone specials. The service is friendly and the environment is just right. The hockey games brings in a crowd and so does chilly weekend mornings. Overall this place is by far my favorite restaurant in Ottawa. Read more

The BEST pizza I have had in the Ottawa downtown area. I usually order online and my order is always super hot and ready to go by the specified time! The pizza is cheesy and they put tons of toppings. Their wings are delicious and saucy and the combo platter is unreal. The jalapeno poppers literally pop when you bite into them.
