The nachos are to die for, and I don't even like nachos very much. The menu was severely limited due to the incredible business that is Pride Week, and I was at a stretch finding something vegetarian and to my liking. After being told that they were accepting no substitutions (understandably, but I just wanted no mayo and onion on the veggie burger), I went with my second choice, the curry. I wasn't expecting much, but it succeeded my expectations. Not fantastic and it needed more than a sprinkle of salt, but pleasant nonetheless. Co-diners raved about their nachos and pulled pork. Service was a bit scattered due to business, but were very friendly. When a beer was brought to our table that wasn't ordered -- but welcomed! -- he let us have it on the house. We really love the fish and chips here. It is lightly battered and just like authentic English Fish and chips. We have never eaten in, we always get it to go or delivered so i am not sure about table service. Would highly recommend eating here. Read more

I have been coming here since 2003/2004. Three different owners since than but they still seem to get our favorite dish right the chicken steak with the rice. Mmmmm, nicely grilled juicy chicken breast, lots of flavor and tasty. I agree with the previous reviewer that the taste changes from time to time, different cooks, but 7/10 times u will get a great meal. We come here b/c it's a great option when we need a quick but good meal. I would just recommend that one dish. And for the few die-hards, we'll get a couple orders of Chicken Fingers, fries and onion rings. Otherwise, if you do order one Dinner plate....yes it will last you two lunches. (Harlem on Queen) After a weekend of dining at pretentious good-for-nothing restaurants (re: Spice Route) we decided to settle for Harlem, my bf's idea as the location of this place is easy to miss with so many other eateries surrounding it. We had the brunch/lunch menu. The waitresses were very attentive. Served right away. Food was quite tasty, although the only negative part about it was that it came out a lukewarm. The catfish lafyette was delicious! Yam and yukon hash was good, but would've been better if served hot, as potatoes tend to get rubbery when it gets cold. The ribs were not bad either. There was a lot of food on the menu that I wanted to try today, so I'll definitely go back , maybe during dinner the next time. Read more

Great food; really interesting atmosphere. Spectacular drinks! The seats on the outside patio are tree stumps. There's live music too on some days. The menus come on a vinyl record. And I had pretty good service too. No lingering waiters but I saw them pretty often during the night. It's one of the few cozy getaways left in Toronto. Read more

We arrived at the restaurant about 5:50 pm and it was packed. So upon arrival, we had to sign in and wait about 10 minutes. Then when we did get our table, we ordered our food and drinks, but due to the number of customers, our server was very distracted. So we ended up waiting 10 minutes for our food, but it was worth it when it arrived. The food was excellent, but our service was a little frustrating. The prices were also reasonable. It was about $33 for two of us to eat. Nonetheless, we will continue to go here. Read more
