“I started my journey in web design in the 2000s, after I had graduated from a multimedia program. It was rather hard to find a job in the field at the time; the web was in its infancy, and few businesses considered it fundamental. So I started out as a freelancer; acquiring experience through the odd contract,” recalls Pascal Couturier, owner of Chocolat Média.
Along the way, Pascal came across a group of entrepreneurs looking to invest in web technologies. “I stumbled upon this clique of business people who saw the web as an appealing tool to grow their businesses, and hired me to build their online presence. So my name got around through word of mouth, to such an extent that I had to hire a freelancer of my own, and another one, then yet another one, and so on. So nowadays, Chocolat Média has a staff of six professionals, all working under one roof,” Pascal explains proudly. “It wasn’t easy at first, but we’ve carved ourselves a stable little niche.”
